Boswellia Serrata Tree

Boswellia (Frankincense) is a purified extract of the bark resin from the Boswellia serrata tree that grows in the dry hills of India. The resin from this leafy tree contains active ingredients called ‘boswellic acids.

The most impressive research carried out on Boswellia was published in 2003 in the respected journal Phytomedicine and was carried out on humans subjects with Osteoarthritis who reported reduced knee pain, more knee flexibility, reduced swelling of the knee joint and an ability to walk much further. The scientists behind the study recommended it for osteoarthritis of the knee and saw possible therapeutic uses for other types of arthritis.
