Swedish scientists have found that reducing a protein can slow down the over-active skin cell division that is the root cause of psoriasis.

The protein is called Psoriasin and is found in higher levels in the skin of people with psoriasis

Surprisingly the same protein is also assumed to be a factor in the development of breast cancer.

There is not yet a treatment available that specifically reduces Psoriasin production.
