Skin tags are small brown tags of skin. They are not dangerous but some people get concerned about the look of them and they do not tend to go away of their own accord. If you are prone to skin tags you’ve probably got quite a few. The most common places for skin tags are on the neck, under the breasts and near the armpits and they tend to be more common with age.

There are a number of ways of effectively removing them, although many doctors refuse to treat them because they are not dangerous. However doctors can remove them with a scalpel or a pair of surgical scissors in their actual surgery.

But if you don’t like the idea of being cut, another effective way to get rid of skin tags is to have them frozen off like warts.

An effective DIY method is to tie them with thread as close as you can to the skin, which cuts the blood supply off to the skin tag and it eventually dies and drops off. There is also some anecdotal evidence to suggest that simply rubbing them regularly with a loofah or exfoliating cloth is also effective at removing skin tags.
