The compound found in elderberries, called anthocyanin, will be tested during 12-week trial to prove their theory in September for its ability to improve the skin’s structure. The compound will also be tested for it’s strong anti-inflammatory effects, which may mean it could be used in topical applications for inflammatory skin conditions such as eczema and dermatitis as well as for other inflammatory conditions such as arthritis.
