What is Psoriasis?

Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory skin condition triggered by the immune system that causes red, flaky patches of skin. These flaky bits of skin can often become itchy and uncomfortable.

Psoriasis can appear all over the body but is most commonly found on the elbows, knees, scalp and lower back. It can appear for the first time at any age, although it is more likely to appear between the ages of 11- 45 and affects men and women equally. Psoriasis is a permanent and long-term (chronic) skin condition that is not contagious.
